How is SiteScan delivered to me?
SiteScan is an Internet-hosted application accessed through the OptiView Web site. There are no products to download or install. To use SiteScan, you only need to visit the OptiView Web site, enter your login information, and use the product via the Web. Once SiteScan has performed a scan of your Web site, it emails you a report containing a link to your optimized images in a ZIP/TAR file. This compressed file is a mirror image of your site's file structure, so to optimize your entire site you need only to unzip the file and drag-and-drop the images over your site.

What is the traffic capacity?
SiteScan has an adjustable hit rate to manage the load on your Web servers.
What is the maximum number of pages I can optimize using SiteScan?
Using SiteScan, you can optimize up to 20,000 pages in one report.
What are the integration/implementation needs?
For most browsers, there are no integration or implementation requirements for SiteScan, because it runs on default Port 80, which SiteScan uses to scan the Web site.
Are there any firewall constraints?
Yes, but SiteScan scans public sites or sites using basic authentication with no problems, which accounts for a majority of Web sites accessible to the public. Sites that aren't accessible from a browser on the Internet are not accessible by SiteScan.
How does OptiView know what level of optimization is best?
OptiView uses proprietary algorithms that balance bandwidth saving and image quality to reach the "magic" point of optimization. We also change image formats to be better-suited for faster downloads, and we do color palette reduction, giving preference to predominant color fields in the image, such as skin tones, text, edges, and background. All of this happens in less than 1/20th of a second.
Does SiteScan handle text compression and optimization?
Yes, gzip+ optimization is a new standard feature of SiteScan.
